The Lyrical Vagabonds Art/Poetry Show

The important thread between art, poetry, and literature cannot be underestimated. The way that art and poetry support the engagement that comes from reading calls upon imagination, personal expression and the skills that come from interpreting, analyzing language and demonstrating its use to access emotions, memories, and dreams.

That is why the readers in the Words Beyond Bars program are often the artists and poets as well. It makes good sense to support all their expression, so we encourage you to attend the event & experience Wayne Gilbert’s amazing efforts to bring incarcerated art out of the prison and to share its power to heal and communicate our shared humanity.
